So much is beautiful about Angel Island in San Francisco Bay and this private tangle of oak trees climbing into the brilliant blue caught my attention. Using both long brushstrokes and rich mosaic blocks of color, I blended impressionism and abstraction to impart the sweep of the grasses, the jungle density of the woods, and the unfettered sky above.
