I love artichokes. And when their thistles flower, the purple color is truly one of life’s miracles. Seriously. In my artistic opinion, “artichoke purple” is one of the highest ranking purples on land or sea. And you know how I feel about purple! My models for this painting are from the wild and overflowing gardens at Roblar Winery in Los Olivos, another place you can walk around all day and ogle at the beauty.
