The coastline near Gaviota is narrow, remote and untrammeled. The sunsets have a magical softness attributed to the fact that the California coastline here faces due south instead of west. So, as the sun sinks behind the western hills, the southern view drapes itself in various shades of pastel lingerie. For tonight’s happy hour, I bring you our newest color: pink butterscotch.
