Castle Creek

Aptly named, Castle Creek (Colorado) is the most perfect creek in the loveliest little glacier-carved valley. Purple wildflowers, sparkling water, the Montezuma Mountains like a Lord of The Rings backdrop, what more could one ask for? The hike that day was of the let’s-get-lost variety, my favorite kind. This petite painting is done in thick brushwork and simple lines to accentuate the vivid elemental beauty.
