Cedar Love

This painting is inspired by two beautiful cedar trees I met backpacking in the High Sierras. We now know that trees of the same species assist each other through their root systems with extra sugar when needed, warnings of threats, and more. Trees are not loners, but lovers. They have awareness and strive for a healthy forest community, including sending help to the dying. Done in thick generous brushstrokes, I strove to capture the living forest mosaic and the palpable bond between these two majestic forest creatures. This painting is done on a 1.5″ gallery-wrapped canvas and arrives ready to hang.
