Walking this beautiful beach outside Brookings, Oregon, it was if sea and sky merged into one another, like mirror images, separated only by these towering offshore rocks. Though the rocks were angular and clouds and sea were restless, they somehow created the feeling of a soft cocoon. I used loose brushwork and a palette of gentle mauves and blues to depict this energized yet deep tranquility. This painting arrives ready to hang on a 1.5″ wrapped canvas with hand-painted edge.
