Colorado Confections — 40×30 in

The Four Pass Loop Trail skirts the base of Capitol Peak, the most formidable of the Colorado 14ers. This glorious 7-mile hike through the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness near Aspen was, luckily for me, at the height of fall aspen glory, and on this day it was “snowing” gold. Walking through the groves was like being in a magical candy shop with someone going crazy with the sprinkles. I thought I was going die and go to heaven! I swooned all over again bringing this trail to life on canvas. I especially love the contrast of the bright gold coins on the cobalt blue shadows. Hope you enjoy the exuberance of this day as much as I did!
