This painting of Antelope Canyon in Arizona is my tribute to a week spent canyoneering the slot canyons of the American Southwest. To say that my geologist self, spiritual self and artistic self were awestruck is an understatement. I’ve never been anywhere quite as pink and ethereal while also being totally grounded. The privacy and beauty of some of these canyons literally made me weep. This painting is highly rendered, each swirl of the rocky canyon expertly blended into the next, the paint applied like the silkiest chiffon to imitate the smoothness created by wind, water and sand. This painting is done on a 1.5-inch wrapped canvas and arrives ready to hang.
