A foggy morning in Purisima Redwood Preserve off Skyline Blvd in Silicon Valley brings the most amazing sense of both vastness and intimacy. Vastness because the light through the trees is coming from the ocean as the terrain freefalls 2000 feet to the Pacific. Intimacy because the mist and moss-covered acoustics create a reverent silence. I used glowing foggy-day colors and thick impressionistic brushstrokes to capture the zen of this amazing forest.
