Northern California has many zero-access beaches tucked between cliff and sea. This one I spied from the top of a precipice near Trinidad through a tangle of winter branches. Using rich emotive brushstrokes I brought out the luminous golds and greens created by the afternoon light playing off the rocks and surf.
