Not wanting to deal with a vortex of people, we night-hiked into Boynton Canyon to the Kachina Woman spire, the site of one of Sedona’s fabled vortexes. I get juiced up anywhere in wild nature, especially if I can lie down directly on the earth and be totally quiet. It was utterly magical to be in such a normally busy place with only the stars and rocks for company. I used expressive brushstrokes to bring you this massive spire of red rock catapulting into the night sky.
