This powerful painting has a long-lost twin done in acrylics. I painted it in New Hampshire, very early in my art career. It was my first huge rose, 48 x 60 inches (same as this one), and my first art show was in progress, so I added it in the second I finished it. It sold that weekend, along with two other paintings, to a Boston art collector. Later, after we moved to Auburn, California, and I began painting in oils, I wanted to paint this rose again as I’d barely gotten to look at the first one and only had a snapshot of it. This one — that you see here — is much improved over the first and I got a hi-res scan of it before selling it, thus, prints of this sensual rose are available to you!
