Penstemon and Sage – 16×12 in

I have never seen penstemon so giant, so profuse, and so thoroughly purple as in the Roaring Rock Valley near Aspen. I love how the purple looks next to the cool green sage. I used thick brushwork and a moody blue sky for this wildflower vignette.
