Pinnacles National Monument is amazing no matter the season and spring hiking is an extra treat. The vibrant purple flowers of wild onion bobbing on long stems above a tangle of yellowing leaves was worthy of its own composition. I love how these flowers, along with the oaks and bull pines, soften the deep shadows on the tawny pinnacles. This scene is depicted with generous paint, bold colors, and distinct brushstrokes. It is painted on a 1.5″ wrapped canvas and arrives ready to hang.
