Since childhood, the Ponderosa Pine has exerted a special pull. Tall, straight, and massive, clad in scales of russet orange bark split into plates the size of continents, it’s an impressive tree. Add a wild head of hair on top and a delicious butterscotch smell… gosh, maybe we need to start a dating site for trees! This one is from the McCloud Falls area near Mt. Shasta (and is unable to relocate, lol). I used a palette of barky colors and thick emotive brushwork to paint this handsome fellow.
This painting arrives ready to hang on a 1½-inch gallery-wrapped canvas with hand-painted edge.
