Coastal redwoods are the tallest living thing on earth. It was my great honor to visit Prairie Creek State Park, a redwood sanctuary in the northern reaches of California’s coastline. I hiked into the evening as the light was falling. What a delight as the sun streamed in low from the west, lighting up, for a few moments, these tall ancient giants. The brushwork, alive with emotion, takes you into the feeling of both quiet power, and the happy radiance of being alive and touched by the sun.
