Seeing Double

Newly into my use of oils, I wanted to try a more challenging rose than the single swirl hybrids, so I found this delicious double rose and made it my mantra for the next week. I loved the challenging geometry — I did start seeing double — as well as the subtlety of colors and shadow that I created by blending the oil paints directly on the canvas.
