Shasta Winterland

Here in Northern California, our beautiful Mt. Shasta presides. This view is from February and the mountain is royal in its winter cloak, framed here by still-bare oaks around Cottonwood, about 80 miles south of the mountain. This long view is depicted here in thick brushstrokes, the valley hills dotted with live oak and the waiting golden fields a contrast in roundness and warmth to the angular blues of the mountains. This painting is done on a 1.5-inch-deep gallery-wrap canvas and arrives ready to hang.
