The sweet pea is well named. Truly it is one of the sweetest of wildflowers. Native to the NorCal mountains where I grew up, its pink blooms and turquoise foliage are a harbinger of summer. It is a wild pea, so it grows in unruly jumbles that always seemed too chaotic to paint. Well, I LOVE how it turned out. Now I want to paint a entire hillside!
